Con i nuovi driver AMD 25.9.1 viene introdotto un aggiornamento di grande rilievo: il supporto a FSR 4, la nuova tecnologia di upscaling basata su machine learning pensata per le schede grafiche con architettura RDNA 4 (serie Radeon RX 9000).
Grazie a questo aggiornamento, tutti i titoli compatibili con FSR 3.1 potranno sfruttare il nuovo modello, a patto che utilizzino l’API DirectX 12. Si tratta di una novità non particolarmente pubblicizzata, ma che segna un passo importante nell’evoluzione dell’ecosistema FSR.
Come abilitarlo?
Nei giochi che integrano FSR 3.1 sarà sufficiente:
- Selezionare il modello FSR 3.1 dal menu del gioco.
- Attivare FSR4 tramite driver.
A quel punto la tecnologia entrerà in azione, purché siano soddisfatti i requisiti minimi: API DX12 e una scheda video della serie RX 9000.
È probabile che lo stesso approccio venga adottato anche per Redstone, il prossimo grande aggiornamento (che, come spiegato QUI, richiederà FSR 3.1.4).
Una scelta che ci sembra decisamente più pratica rispetto alla lunga attesa di patch o integrazioni dedicate da parte delle software house.
